Nutrition Therapy for Chronic Wellness

We’re so glad you found us.

At CEIO Nutrition, we show purpose-driven people how to live their wellest lives beyond cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic illnesses—full of clarity, energy, and confidence.

We’re on a bold mission to take on three of the leading causes of death in the United States—cancer, diabetes, and heart disease.

We use an integrative and functional medicine approach to nutrition therapy to resolve the lifestyle-related risk factors at the root of this “triad of disease”—risk factors like obesity, inflammation, and insulin resistance.

Lifestyle isn’t just the problem—it’s also the path forward.

We believe that every person navigating chronic illness deserves a wellness plan that includes lifestyle as medicine—and integrates with their doctor’s plan for their disease management.

Because anything less is an incomplete care plan.

We believe that big health challenges, like cancer, diabetes, and heart disease, require more than symptom management—they require a whole-person, systems-based solution. So we do what we do best—personalized nutrition therapy—and integrate it with what your medical team does best, to help you experience the best outcomes possible.

  • Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) regulations vary by state—some states have strict requirements, while others do not regulate Medical Nutrition Therapy at all.

Our “Nutrition Therapy” services (i.e., therapeutic nutrition for managing a medical condition) are available to residents in DC, FL, MD, NJ, and VA.

Our “Nutrition Coaching” services (i.e., general nutrition for general wellness) are available to U.S. residents in most other states.

If you reside outside of DC, FL, MD, NJ, or VA, and require MNT for a medical condition, we recommend using our Find a Practitioner Directory to locate a qualified provider in your state.

More about Janell Kaplan

Janell Kaplan, MS, LDN, CNS®

Cancer Survivor • Clinical Nutritionist • Founder of CEIO Nutrition

Janell Kaplan is a board-certified, state-licensed Clinical Nutritionist specializing in integrative and functional medicine. She is the founder of CEIO Nutrition, where she helps purpose-driven people live their wellest lives beyond cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and other complex chronic conditions.

A long-time cancer survivor living with an arrhythmia and late effects from the therapies that saved her life, Janell brings a rare blend of clinical expertise and lived experience to her work. She knows firsthand how confusing, exhausting, and frustrating the road to healing can be—especially when you’re told “everything looks normal,” but you still don’t feel well.

Janell’s journey back to health began after undergoing chemotherapy and radiation in 1999. When conventional follow-up care didn’t offer the support she needed, she turned to personalized nutrition. What she discovered not only transformed her health—it reshaped her purpose. Today, she uses that same science-backed, compassionate approach to help others reclaim their clarity, energy, confidence, and lives through nutrition therapy.

Her practice focuses on addressing the root causes of symptoms like brain fog, fatigue, pain, inflammation, insulin resistance, and metabolic dysfunction—through personalized plans that blend medical nutrition therapy (MNT), targeted supplementation, and sustainable lifestyle strategies.

Janell is more than a nutritionist—she’s a partner in her clients’ healing process. Known for her ability to simplify the science and make sustainable changes feel doable, she offers support that is equal parts expert, educator, and encourager.

  • Janell earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and Psychology from American Military University and her Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. She is a Board-Certified Nutrition Specialist® (CNS®) and a Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist (LDN) in multiple states. She has also completed advanced training through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) Certification Program.

Her education and clinical experience equip her to support clients with complex, overlapping diagnoses—especially those navigating cancer survivorship, metabolic syndrome, post-viral illness, and autoimmunity.

  • When she’s not helping clients reclaim their health, you’ll likely find Janell swing, blues, or fusion dancing with friends, experimenting with bold flavors in the kitchen, or walking through the woods with her husband, son, and their two dogs. An unapologetic fan of all things nerdy, she loves getting lost in D&D campaigns or curling up with a great book.

Whether she’s working, dancing, or exploring, Janell approaches life with curiosity, creativity, and a deep commitment to living well.
